St. Joseph Medical Center - ERCL Psychiatrist

Job Summary:
The St. Joseph Medical Center – Consultation/Liaison/ER Psychiatrist will work under CED, PA, a group behavioral health practice serving the University of Maryland, St. Joseph Medical Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional care to medical/surgical patients in a 230 bed acute care setting and Emergency Department.

Responsibilities:
- Obtain patient history and perform assessments using observation, interviews, and examinations.
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests as needed.
- Provide care to psychiatric patients in ER setting in collaboration with ER multidisciplinary team.

-Participate in shared rotating departmental call schedule
- Provide counseling and education to patients and their families on preventative health, wellness, treatment options, and community resources.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Make informed, age and culture-appropriate choices, shared decision-making, and the right to self-determination.

Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- Completion of an accredited psychiatric residency program
- Board eligible in the appropriate specialty (board certified preferred)
