About Lake Powell: 

Lake Powell is the second largest man-made lake in the United States & is the ultimate playground! Over two million people visit each year to view the iconic landscape of sandstone arches, canyons, & winding waterways. The crystal-clear waters are home to water sports like boating, kayaking, paddleboardng, & rafting. Instagrammable points of interest include Antelope Canyon, Rainbow Bridge, & Horseshoe Bend.  

 

The Northlake General Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Bullfrog and Halls Crossing locations at Lake Powell Resorts & Marinas while insuring comprehensive customer service and profitability. These operations include but are not limited to: Lodging, Food & Beverage, Marinas, Boat Rentals, Warehouse, Retail, Marine Repair Services, Fuel Dock and Fuel Station, as well as Employee Housing/Services at both locations. The GM also is responsible for administrative oversight and functional direct/indirect supervision of up to approximately 180+ staff members in peak season.

Job Responsibilities

Functions include, but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Monitor and manage all operational functions including budgets, forecasts, expenses, and supplies.
  • Proactively react to business trends, e.g. labor, expenses and revenue opportunities.
  • Develop, implement, support, and monitor programs and training to ensure productive standards, safety and environmental standards, company policies and procedures are met.
  • Insure satisfactory quarterly and annual NPS inspections.
  • Create, generate, and review reports, i.e. rates, promotional offers, slip & buoy occupancies, parts inventories and etc.
  • Conducts period inventory; performs other functions such as maintaining records to comply with ARAMARK, government, and accrediting agency standards.
  • Reevaluate and inspect operations with managers and supervisors
  • Responsible for daily interaction with the client and client's customers and/or employees. Ensure that all efforts are focused upon exceeding each and every guest’s expectation.  Promotes positive image of the Resort and displays a positive service attitude towards customers and co-workers, in person and on the telephone.
  • Observe guest reactions and confer frequently with staff to determine guest satisfaction.
  • Resolve guest concerns.  
  • Able to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Coordinate Resort functions with other departments.
  • Develop and maintain strong positive interdepartmental relationships.
  • Approve all requisitions for supplies, equipment, and personnel throughout the operations.
  • Support safety committee initiatives; meet or exceed annual OSHA frequency targets; execute monthly safety and environmental programs and inspections.
  • Plan and conduct staff meetings.  Confer regularly with staff to coordinate activities, assign and check work, resolve problems, etc. Plan work schedules.
  • Recognize outstanding employees and assist in providing incentives for improvements in standards and sales.
  • Monitor the physical condition of all facilities and equipment within the operations to ensure that required maintenance is performed.
  • Confer regularly with immediate managers and other Company personnel to plan, coordinate and evaluate services and activities, exchange information, resolve problems, etc.
  • Must be willing to perform miscellaneous duties assigned by District Manager and Vice President of Operations
  • Be well informed with regards to all current and upcoming events to ensure efficiency in the operation. Involvement with the client and customers.
  • Adhere to ARAMARK policies and procedures.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

The general manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and long-term strategic planning of land and marina operations at both the Bullfrog and Halls Crossing locations. This includes management of all marina assets including Boat Rentals, the private marinas, fuel dock, land-based fueling facilities with underground fuel storage; Lodging, food and beverage services, retail outlets, vessel & fleet repair and maintenance services, dry storage, warehouse operations, and employee services, including employee housing at one or both locations.

 

Additionally, the Northlake General Manager will work in conjunction other general managers throughout Lake Powell Resorts & Marinas.

 

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in business, Marina management, hospitality management, or a related field, along with three to five years of experience in Marina management, or an equ
