Job Summary
 

The Assistant Director, Annual Giving for the University of Chicago Booth School of Business understands the principles of fundraising and the mission of the Office of Advancement. This position will support direct response marketing tactics through email, mail, texting, social media, phone, and other channels to raise funds from Chicago Booth alumni and other prospective donors.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates fundraising strategies leading to an annual increase in revenue and key metrics for the Annual Fund at the Booth School of Business. Implements direct marketing solicitation and communication strategies using email, mail, texting, social media, phone, and other channels.
  • Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation. Ensures that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
  • Assists in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring feasibility.
  • Coordinates internal resources and third parties/vendors for the timely execution of projects.
  • Partners with Booth Marketing, Donor Relations, Advancement Communications, Major Gift officers and third party vendors to plan, create, schedule, execute, and evaluate productive, high-quality, cost-effective solicitation projects for the business school.
  • Drafts compelling solicitations in various channels using direct response marketing best practices to motivate alumni and donors to support the Annual Fund.
  • Stays up-to-date on direct response marketing and email marketing best practices. Uses research on giving patterns to improve solicitation techniques and improve future solicitation campaigns.
  • Conducts market research to create messaging and communications that are proven to resonate with the Booth alumni community.
  • Interacts knowledgeably with donors via multiple channels and provides high-quality customer service.
  • Processes purchase orders, invoices, and payments for external vendors.
  • Seeks opportunities for professional development that will enhance job performance.
  • Contributes to the development of plans to solicit prospective donors and meet campaign goals. This includes speaking to new prospects persuasively about the case for annual giving support.
  • Ensures quality control when monitoring various marketing channels by developing a targeted strategy for solicitation and marketing materials as well as campaign appeals, solving a range of straightforward problems as they arise.
  • Performs other related work as needed.


Minimum Qualifications
 

Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
