The Assistant Director of Website and Public Information, under the direction of the Chief Communications Officer, will manage and coordinate the district content management system (CMS), ensuring that internal and external stakeholders can easily navigate the website platform and stay informed about the goals, programs, and activities of the school district. The incumbent will act as the subject matter expert and work closely with district campuses and departments ensuring that all websites adhere to district branding standards. Additionally, the incumbent will act as a liaison between the Fort Bend ISD police department, district and campus administrators, the public and the news media. The incumbent will gather information and assist in the distribution of timely information related to student safety issues at FBISD campuses and police department investigations, and develop and execute proactive communication campaigns that emphasize the District's commitment to student safety to all stakeholder groups. The incumbent will meet deadlines, respond to crisis situations, and develop proactive strategies to ensure timely and accurate district information is provided.

Position Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Website Content Management System
- Manage District website Content Management System
- Develop and implement Website governance tool to ensure accessibility compliance
- Manage integration of Customer Relationship Management System
- Ensure website meets District branding standards
- Work in collaboration with Communications team members to build awareness of FBISD brand, creating a clear understanding of the District’s mission and goals
- Create and conduct training for campus and department web managers
- Facilitate and recommend future Content Management (CMS) and Customer Relationship Management Systems (CRM)
- Oversee and implement future CMS migrations
- Work in collaboration with District’s IT department
- Maintain a strong knowledge of social media and multimedia platforms
- Ensure a consistent look and feel across the Web sites by developing and promoting a uniform Web branding strategy in collaboration with the Communications team
- Assist campuses and departments in the design and maintenance of web sites
- Monitor all web sites for appropriate and up-to-date information
- Create and analyze reports on website activity and similar performance metrics
- Work collaboratively with the Chief Communications Officer and Director of Communications to strategically develop communications that enhance the District and Fort Bend ISD’s brand and reputation
- Facilitate website crisis communications support for internal and external stakeholders
- Attend planning and strategy meetings
- Write, edit and assist in the distribution of news releases and safety-related communications for various audiences, including FBISD parents, employees, students and community members
- Support the Chief of Police with prewritten statements, blog posts, and other messages, and assist in preparation for media interviews and appearances
- Update and keep current information on the Police Department webpage on Fort Bend ISD’s content management system
- Provide content and assist in managing the police social media efforts
- Interact with copywriters, graphic designers, multimedia specialists to implement design, and execution of website content
- Serve as an on-call resource on nights and weekends to respond and coordinate the dissemination of information in emergency and crisis situations
- Organize and coordinate many tasks under pressure
