Position Statement: The Illinois Emergency Management Agency and Office of Homeland Security (IEMA-OHS) is seeking an Administrative Assistant. This individual functions as staff assistant to the administrative and management personnel in the Division of Recovery. This position performs a variety of special project assignments of an administrative nature and assists in evaluating performance measures associated with the Division. The ideal candidate has experience preparing reports in advanced technology systems, personnel-related documentation, and can work in an environment that is flexible and adaptable as emergencies and disasters occur. Essential Functions
- Serves as the Administrative Assistant for the Division of Recovery.
- Provides recommendations and assistance in the development of section policies and operating procedures.
- Acts as division Human Resources (HR) liaison, maintaining current and accurate files.
- Performs emergency response functions including deployments outside of business hours with overnight stays throughout the state as directed during disasters and exercises.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college,
