Your Career

You are passionate about UI best practices, and solving the modern world challenges in the front end world, like code reusability, scalability, and sharing. In this role, you would be building a component library from ground up, and have a large impact on the productivity of the teams at Palo Alto Networks.

You love to code and build exceptional products, and you bring new ideas in all facets of software development. You are passionate about the code you deliver and take pride and ownership in seeing it get delivered end-to-end. You are someone who is highly technical, understands the modern component driven development, and understands the complexities involved.

We expect office-based employees to be in the office four days per week, with one day working from where they choose. We believe being together facilitates casual conversations and those magic moments where we can work on issues and ideas informally. These moments build capability and deepen trusted relationships and allow our people to feel safe in taking risks and being disruptive. Like so many companies, we are working through the details and things could change …. but in general if a role is deemed office-based we want our teams to be together four days per week.

Your Impact

As a key engineer in the UI team you will:

  • Actively participate in development of a component library for our design system
  • Architect highly  performant, scalable, accessible, and reusable front-end components
  • Collaborate with UI Managers, UX Designers, and Software Engineers in their integration efforts
  • Work with other frontend developers, designers to plan, implement and deploy sophisticated user interfaces
  • Participate in the design of new features with product and UX experts
  • Actively involved in code reviews to ensure the shipped product meets the highest code standards and follows best practices
  • Pro-actively design and improve all aspects of the UI, collaborate closely with team members to produce extraordinary user experiences

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • You have expertise in writing scalable enterprise web-apps using Javascript, CSS, HTML, ReactJS, TypeScript, Jest
  • You have experience setting up a front-end toolchain for tests, docs, bundles, using modern OS tooling libraries
  • You are an excellent communicator, self-driven, and can work collaboratively with product teams
  • You have experience with modern build tools such as npm/yarn, Webpack, monorepo structures
  • You have experience in Test-Driven Development (Jest, Mocha, Jasmine)
  • BS in CS/Computer Science or IS/Information Systems or a related field is required or equivalent military experience required
