JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Bilingual Appointment Coordinator for a pediatric practice to answer the incoming calls and schedule the appropriate appointments for the needs of the patient. Coordinate and perform a variety of duties associated with appointment scheduling for clinic visits, studies and procedures. Typically serves as the first point at which a patient is registered into Duke Health System.

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and Coordinate appointment requests, determine appropriate services, physician and appropriateness of setting.
  • Identify correct patient in Maestro Care; verify patient demographic and insurance data.
  • Notify patients of co-payment requirements and outstanding balances.
  • Coordinate appointments in accordance with provider preferences. Notify patients of appointment time and location.

 

JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of one year of work experience in directly communicating and providing service to the general public; preferably in a healthcare related field. Experience in effectively coordinating multiple tasks or activities.
  • Prefer call center experience.
  • Work requires knowledge of basic grammar and mathematical principles normally acquired through high school education.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish 

 

JOB HOURS

The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
