The Director of Transfer Student Success provides vision, leadership, and strategic direction for the college’s student success efforts for transfer students. The Director oversees the Transfer Center as the primary resource hub for students, faculty, and staff engaged in the transfer process, and directs and supports the Weiler Scholars Program. This role is responsible for the development and coordination of student success program partnerships, advising strategies, and programming that advance successful transfer outcomes. The Director supervises the Transfer Student Success team that provides direct support to students and facilitates key initiatives and resources that connect students to baccalaureate degree opportunities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Strategic Leadership & Direction
Leads the implementation and continuous improvement of the College’s transfer student success strategy, including Buckeye Bridge and Weiler Scholars Program support, in alignment with institutional goals for student success and degree completion.
Serves as the institutional expert on transfer outcomes and pathways; collects, analyzes, and reports data to inform planning and assess the impact of transfer initiatives.
Develops and maintains systems for ongoing evaluation of articulation agreements, transfer advising practices, and student success metrics across the college and within the Weiler Scholars program.
Shapes and evolves a student-centered advising and coaching model for transfer-intending students, ensuring equitable support across programs.
In collaboration with College leadership, develops long-range plans to increase the visibility, clarity, and success of transfer opportunities for students.
Operational Leadership
Leads and manages the Transfer Student Success team that specializes in student advising, resource development, and program implementation related to transfer as well as the Weiler Scholars, specifically. Leads the operations of the Transfer Center.
Oversees the creation and maintenance of a centralized, web-based resource hub for transfer planning and pathway information.
Coordinates the planning and execution of on-campus and virtual transfer-focused events, such as transfer fairs, university information sessions, and transfer-focused orientations. This includes outreach and programming for the Weiler Scholars students.
Ensures effective communication and marketing of transfer pathways across the institution, including advising offices, academic departments, and student communications channels.
Monitors and supports the implementation of transfer-focused initiatives and services, adjusting based on student feedback, data trends, and evolving institutional needs. ,
Partnerships & Collaboration
Cultivates and sustains strong partnerships with four-year institutions. Serves as a liaison to university partners, facilitating strategic collaboration on joint programming, and student support services.
Collaborates with academic affairs and deans to align transfer student support with associate degree programs and general education curricula.
Tracks changes in transfer partner policies, program offerings, and credit transferability to ensure up-to-date guidance and information for students and staff.
Leads joint planning efforts with university partners for sustained campus presence and visibility, including office hours, co-hosted events, and cross-institutional outreach.
