Role Overview

The Team Lead, Education Sales leads the Education sales team and owns the end-to-end go-to-market strategy for the Education segment, covering both University and Student markets. The role is responsible for driving new institution and student customer acquisition, growing ARR within the existing base, and reducing churn across both segments. The University segment operates through direct, relationship-led sales to institutions, while the Student segment runs as a low-touch, digital-first purchase journey, requiring close partnership with the Ecommerce team to optimise the online funnel, conversion rates, and pricing experience. Reporting to the Sr. Director GTM Strategy & Transformation, this role requires a commercially driven sales leader with a hands-on approach, a track record of owning segment revenue end-to-end, and the ability to coach and develop a team while remaining personally active in deals. The role operates with a high degree of autonomy and suits someone who wants to build and scale a team rather than maintain one.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Education sales team, setting clear individual performance expectations, coaching from the front, and stepping into deals directly where needed to support pipeline and attainment targets.

  • Own and scale a proactive, discovery-led outbound motion to win new institution and student customers, continuously refining outreach cadence and qualification criteria.

  • Drive expansion and retention within the existing student and institution customer base, identifying and executing initiatives that grow ARR and reduce churn.

  • Own ARR and pipeline growth within the University segment through relationship-led, direct sales to institutions, tracking key performance metrics and diagnosing and correcting underperformance.

  • Own ARR and seat growth within the Student segment, which runs as a low-touch, digital-first purchase journey rather than a traditional sales motion; partner with the Ecommerce team to continuously optimize the online funnel, conversion rates, and pricing experience.

  • Own accurate pipeline forecasting and attainment reporting for the Education business, providing reliable visibility into performance for sales reviews and senior leadership.

  • Partner with RevOps, Marketing, Product, and Ecommerce to ensure Education-specific campaigns, content, and product feedback are prioritised and executed effectively.

Requirements

Required Experience

  • At least 5 years of sales experience within a SaaS or technology environment, including demonstrated experience leading a sales team with direct accountability for team performance and revenue outcomes.

  • Proven track record of owning a direct sales territory or segment end-to-end, from pipeline generation through closed, retained revenue.

  • Experience managing and influencing a low-touch, digital or ecommerce-led purchase journey (funnel, conversion, pricing) is a strong advantage.

  • Previous experience in Architecture, Education, EdTech, or a related vertical is an advantage, but not required.

Required Skills

  • Takes full ownership of commercial outcomes: builds pipeline, closes deals, and drives team performance without waiting to be directed.

  • Leads by example in the field: comfortable coaching team members through live deals and personally engaging in high-priority opportunities where it makes a difference.
