Job Description Summary

To deliver professional and consistent support to young people who are homeless or at risk of experiencing homelessness. To support the case management team in the ongoing implementation of case management plans and create a therapeutic environment within the crisis accommodation setting.

Based at Oasis Youth Service Crisis accommodation in Surry Hills. The service is operational 24/7.

Oasis Youth Service’s Crisis Accommodation Service is committed to working in partnership with young people to address the issues contributing to their unique experience of crisis & homelessness, with a particular focus on assisting young people to:

  • Develop life and living skills to prepare for independence
  • Address issues in relation to health & wellbeing
  • Promote opportunities to overcome exclusion and isolation
  • Explore education, employment pathways and participation
  • Work towards long term sustainable housing.

Youth Services staff work within a trauma & psychologically informed practice environment; all staff are expected to work creatively towards ensuring that the support needs of all young people are the first priority.

The Salvation Army Youth Services offer an integrated suite of programs engaging with young people across Australia. Our services create intentional avenues for young people to explore opportunities, build support networks, and access, participate and contribute to their communities. Youth services provide a diverse range of programs which include housing and homelessness, driver training, education, employment and training, AOD support, social and community activities, specialist therapeutic responses and youth justice programs.

HOURS AND SALARY

The position is permanent part time position available, 61.8 hours per fortnight on 24/7 roster. The fortnightly roster does include weekend shifts and 5 overnight stand-up shifts where you are required to be awake. Please do not apply if you cannot commit to this.

Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, Crisis Accommodation, level 1.

Week 1: Wed & Thu 11:00pm to 7:06am, Sat 7:00am to 3:06pm & Sun 3pm to 11:06pm
 

Week 2: Tue 11:00pm to 7:06am, Thu 3pm to 11:06pm, Fri 11:00pm to 7:06am & Sat 10:00pm to 7:06am.
