Associate Director, Central Inventory

About the role

The Role

In this role, you will play a lead role in managing central inventory sites storerooms performance diagnostics to identify improvement opportunities and drive successful implementation throughout the network.

Here’s What You’ll Do

  • Actively partner with Global Central Inventory Team (GCIT), which is a global network comprised of membership from commercial, clinical, and non-GMP sites

    • Facilitate GCIT meetings.

    • Drive continuous improvement and maturity advancement through recurring Maintenance maturity assessments, performance diagnostics, and implementation of network improvement plans to:

      • Integrate spare parts supply to Maintenance Planning Strategy

      • Engages Asset Reliability and Risk Management Assessments to spare parts supply planning models.

      • Defines custody, effective material, and distribution flows to supply spare parts for asset maintenance, rotating assets, change parts for manufacturing, facility materials, and operating supplies.

      • Define process for quality controls over product contact spare parts such as elastomers and lubricants.

      • Promotes effective and integrated inventory data management process for inventory data integrity.

      • Defines integrated services in support of spare parts supply activities targeting adherence to material plan, service level commitment, and financial objectives.

      • Develops strategic inventory sharing models at network, regional, or multi-site levels.

    • Partner with both functional and site leaders as well as key process owners to develop strategies for improving respective processes.

    • Champion OE activities and utilize appropriate OE tools and methodologies to resolve key business issues (i.e., VSM or Kaizen of key maintenance processes). 

    • Mentor representatives throughout network as required.

    • Develop and manage key performance indicators inline with industry best practices.

  • Partner closely with Engineering Capital Projects, Process Owners, and Reliability Engineers to continuously improve Central Inventory Operations

  • Partner closely with Quality to ensure policies, procedures and practices ensure compliance.

  • Foster and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including Site Facilities & Engineering, Quality Assurance, Validation, EH&S, Digital, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations Improvement, etc.

  • Additional duties as may be assigned from time to time

Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration and

  • 15 years of professional work experience supporting Central Inventory, Facilities Operations, Engineering or Maintenance

  • Master’s degree in business administration- Materials Management – and

  • 8 professional work experience supporting Central Inventory, Facilities Operations, Engineering or Maintenance.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience in Pharmaceutical / Biotechnology industries

  • Proven experience with Central Inventory Operations

  • Proven experience with Asset Management processes

  • Experience with Maximo Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or equivalent maintenance management application

  • Demonstrated experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Project management experience leading large process improvement initiatives

  • Proven experience and track record of compliance in a highly regulated environment

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and partner in a complex, matrix environment.

  • Strong analytical skills to identify potential improvement opportunities.

  • Knowledge of industry trends (e.g., regulatory and compliance, technology, human performance programs, sustainability, etc.)

  • Ability to combine technical problem-solving skills with business acumen to determine best business solution.
