BWXT is currently seeking a Process Engineer for its location in Lynchburg, VA!

 

BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWXT) is a leading supplier of nuclear components and fuel to the U.S. government; provides technical, management and site services to support governments in the operation of complex facilities and environmental restoration activities; and supplies precision manufactured components, services and CANDU® fuel for the commercial nuclear power industry.

 

BWXT is seeking a Process Engineer that will be responsible for supporting the Advanced Technologies (AT) group at the Lynchburg Technology Center in Lynchburg, VA.  This facility operates several radioactive facilities including a failure analysis laboratory, mechanical testing laboratory, machine shop, radiochemistry laboratory, nuclear counting laboratory, metals analysis laboratory, and four fuel-handling hot cells.  The Process Engineer will be a part of a team assisting the transition from the development of novel nuclear fuel forms into pilot-scale production.

Job Description / Duties:

• Facilitate implementation of a prototypic fuel manufacturing process.
• Interprets technical contract requirements, technical specifications, design/working drawings, and procedures to support engineering decisions.
• Interfaces with chemists, technicians, operators, and internal customers to develop engineered solutions to production issues.
• Prepares product deviation reports, process plan outlines, and other technical documents.
• Assist in generation and revision of area operating procedures (AOPs) and technical procedures (TPs) for the assigned processing areas.
• Supports internal and external customer tours and presentations.
• Trends and process monitors various attributes related to production processing.

 

Job Qualificiations / Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
• A minimum of four (4) years of work experience in an engineering related field is required.
• Superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
