Candidate requirements include :
Currently enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program in one of the following areas of study: Education; Health Sciences (ex: critical disability studies, health studies, psychology); Social Sciences (ex: sociology, anthropology, political sciences, social work, work and labour studies).
Proficiency in oral and written French and English.
Familiarity with the Quebec education system.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
Strong time management, planning, and organizational skills.
Strong understanding, familiarity or knowledge of research design and qualitative methods.
Experience working with Black communities is considered an asset.
Experience working in a school system in Quebec is considered an asset.
Specific tasks include :
Work virtually and in-person for research team meetings and interviews with prospective participants.
Punctually attend all research team meetings and training sessions
Assist in the preparation of an annotated bibliography and a literature review in English and in French
Support and conduct the content analysis of educational policy documents in English and in French.
Support the preparation of interview guides in English and in French.
Support the recruitment of potential participants in English and in French.
Participate in qualitative methods workshops and training.
Conduct semi-structured interviews with educational professionals and Black youth.
Other responsibilities may include tasks such as note-taking at meetings and assisting with other administrative duties.
