The Director of Workplace Research is an integral leader within the Workplace Innovation team, focused on exploring and understanding the company’s workplace and experiences. Leveraging strong business acumen and operations of our global offices, this role will be responsible for designing and performing innovative, human-centered research approaches that support key projects to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our spaces and programs. This role will also track & compile trends throughout the year to deliver regional and business unit insights and an annual end of year report. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the company’s business, operations, and culture to navigate through challenges while conducting research. Exceptional communication, analytical, and leadership skills are a must to ensure findings resonate with all partners.
Responsibilities:
Develop a research agenda that demonstrates an understanding of business priorities
Influence new concept development and collaborate on active initiatives that improve REWS effectiveness and employee experience
Stay updated on industry research and external partners that can influence new approaches to the workplace
Establish and maintain trusted expert relationships with key partners within the real estate organization and across the company, especially other internal research teams
Develop research processes and tools that support research in an agile manner - sometimes testing small parts of a hypothesis in addition to longer-term studies
Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis to track and evaluate effectiveness of the workplace
Provide a regular cadence of communication to key partners and executives, aiming for transparency and alignment on key findings, while addressing concerns to influence future strategy shifts
Create and maintain profiles that improve the REWS org’s understanding of employee & team needs, while accounting for local nuances
Think critically and strategically to develop standard processes and metrics that increase efficiency and effectiveness of the REWS organization
Required Skills/Experience:
8+ years experience developing and performing workplace research
Familiar with CRE global operations, change management, and process development
Proven ability to build, lead and implement strategy in a cross-functional, global environment
Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and project management skills, using relevant information to make timely and critical decisions that affect cross-functional teams
Can connect the dots in developing high-level strategy and can roll up sleeves for tactical execution as needed
Comfort with ambiguity and motivated to solve complex problems
Able to execute in a changing environment and make things happen
Executive presence to lead and manage global partners
Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships while delivering results in a fast growing global organization
