We are seeking an equally passionate Associate Solar Design Specialist to help further our mission through excellent attention to detail, customer service, and a team-focused approach.

As an Associate Solar Design Specialist, you will support both the Sales and Install Operations organizations by ensuring solar designs account for customer preferences, company policies, as well as local, state, and national codes. This position includes use of aerial imagery and web-based software to create 3D models of homes and their surroundings, which are used to generate custom proposals that show customers the expected panel layout and solar production of their system.

Essential Job Functions

  • Follow design standards to ensure solar designs can be installed with high customer satisfaction.
  • Use solar modeling software to model site conditions including roof plane dimensions, roof pitch, roof obstructions, trees, and other objects that affect the layout of solar panels on a roof and system production.
  • Adhere to PV system design criteria including electrical, equipment, and installation parameters while complying with local and national code requirements in project jurisdictions.
  • Meet deadlines to complete designs for photovoltaic projects within a fast-paced production based environment with fluctuations in work priorities depending on the needs of the business.
  • Work with sales and install operations teams to help close deals, prevent customer cancellations and change orders, and promote efficient installs.
  • Maintain account files in Salesforce.
  • Assist in developing and documenting industry best practices, standards, and guidelines.

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience with designing and/or constructing solar electric systems preferred
  • Experience with solar production modeling software (Aurora, etc.) preferred
  • Working knowledge of residential electrical and roofing standards preferred
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code and local building codes a plus
  • NABCEP (associate) certification is a plus
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM software a plus
  • Experience with AutoCad software a plus

Base Salary$16.50—$18.50 USD
