About the role

Job Summary

This position will be hybrid onsite. It will start at the Libertyville, IL location and move to the Northbrook, IL location in the future.

Medline is seeking a highly skilled Identity and Access Management (IAM) Manager to lead our IAM team in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure identity management solutions. This role requires deep expertise in privileged access management (PAM), identity governance and administration (IGA), and federated authentication, as well as a strong understanding of identity security principles across both on-premise and cloud environments. The IAM Manager will oversee both operations and engineering, ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of IAM services while managing a 24x7x365 on-call support rotation. In addition to technical leadership, this role will be responsible for project planning, budgeting, and cross-functional collaboration, ensuring that IAM strategies align with business needs and security practices

Job Description

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

IAM Operations & Engineering Leadership: Manage and support IAM operations and engineering functions, ensuring the security, availability, and performance of identity services

Technical Expertise and Guidance: Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for privileged access management (PAM), identity governance and administration (IGA), and federated authentication, providing leadership on best practices and innovation

Identity Threat Detection and Response (ITDR): Develop and implement ITDR capabilities to proactively detect, investigate, and mitigate identity-based threats, ensuring integration with overall security operations.

On-Call Support Management: Oversee and coordinate a 24x7x365 on-call schedule, ensuring timely response and resolution of IAM-related incidents

Security and Compliance:  Ensure IAM solutions align with organizational security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices

Project Management and Execution: Plan, prioritize, and manage IAM projects in collaboration with IT and business stakeholders

Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration: Partner with IT security, infrastructure, application teams, and business units to align IAM capabilities with organizational goals

Process Improvement and Innovation:  Identify opportunities to enhance IAM strategies, streamline workflows, and implement automation to improve efficiency and security posture

Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage IAM budgets, including cost analysis and forecasting for IAM related investments

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)

Work Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in IAM, with a focus on CyberArk PAM, Azure Entra, and PingFederate
  • 3+ years of experience in security, cloud environments, or IT infrastructure
  • 2+ years of experience in a managerial or leadership role within IAM or cybersecurity
  • Experience managing a 24x7x365 operational support team

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of IAM principles and best practices.
  • Deep expertise in IAM platforms, particularly CyberArk PAM, Active Directory, Azure Entra, and PingFederate
  • Strong understanding of identity security principles and hybrid based IAM implementations
  • Ability to lead and develop technical teams, manage performance, and foster collaboration
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong project management skills, with experience in planning, execution, and risk mitigation
  • Experience with budget planning, forecasting, and cost management for IAM operations
  • Ability to analyze security risks and recommend IAM solutions to improve enterprise security posture
  • Knowledge of ITDR methodologies, threat detection, and response strategies

PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS

Certification / Licensure

Additional certifications such as CISM, CCSP, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert

Work Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in IAM with increasing responsibility in leadership roles
  • Experience integrating IAM solutions in hybrid environments
  • Experience working in highly regulated industries such as finance, healthcare, or government

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Familiarity with Zero Trust security models and emerging IAM trend
  • Experience with IAM automation, scripting, and APIs to improve efficiency
  • Knowledge of identity governance & administration (IGA) a
