Description:CTI is seeking a Senior SME to provide support to Joint/MAGTF/MEF/MEB-level exercise design, planning, and execution and support USMC Service Level Training Exercises (SLTE) through coaching, critical analysis, and recommendations aligned with increasing lethality and capabilities of the Joint Force in the Future Operating Environment (FOE) as aligned with Force Design 2030 and other National Security evolving concepts. The successful candidate will have a well-rounded background in joint military operations and understand how a MEF/MEB supports the joint fight. The incumbent will have a solid understanding of command relationships to include COCOM/JTF/Fleet-level operations. During exercise execution the Joint/MAGTF SME will interact with other members of the SME team to provide the government and/or training audience with feedback on design, metrics, analysis, and considerations for inputs that span the continuum of force across all warfighting functions. The SME will provide written injects and considerations as part of a coordinated effort typically guided by government leads or CTI leadership for each effort.
The day-to-day:•Provide experience-based mentorship to training unit commanders and their staffs on the creation of orders products and their ability to command and control operations.•Respectively, provide MSTP/MAGTFTC Exercise Control and Design Staff commander-level inputs into order and scenario product development.•Act as scenario commander, when required, to provide commander’s guidance and intent, drive the planning process for training units and students, and make commander decisions upon execution within the scenario.•In coordination with the Obsidian Lead and active-duty counterparts, provide guidance and considerations for scenario development, required orders, reports, briefs, and planning documents to support MEF/MEB-level exercises. •Attend conferences and meetings at the resident site and other locations off site. Provide input/analysis to the design, scope, and method of training, correlate exercise and training objectives into observable and measurable training activities. •Participates in and conducts reviews and structured walk-throughs of exercise design and training events, operation orders and plans and JTF/component command level battle rhythm events.•Advises and performs the functional responsibilities of replicated higher command functions. •Adjusts work hours as necessary to support extended work hours in support of 12 to 24-hour continuous operations during events. •Performs research of operational concepts and plan, conducts analysis of command processes, and determines information exchange requirements.•Performs other duties as required of a Military Analyst and is prepared to assume the role of an event Observer, Trainer, Collector (OTC) to support the MSTP MAGTF Branch when required.•The mission of the USMC is to organize, train, and equip Fleet Marine Forces (FMF) of combined arms, together with supporting air components, for service with the fleet in the seizure of defense of advanced naval bases and for the conduct of such land operations as may be essential to the prosecution of a naval campaign.
The qualifications (required):•Must be a US Citizen•Must have a Secret clearance; Top Secret with SCI eligibility (Desired)•Minimum fifteen (15) years of experience in in USMC, joint, and multinational operations at the tactical and operational levels of war.•Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent w/ 15+ Years Direct Relevant Experience•Possesses detailed and functional knowledge of the Marine Corps and joint/combined Planning Process and Marine Corps and joint doctrine related to Fires/Effects. •Senior staff planning experience in Joint Operations Planning Process and/or the Marine Corps Planning Process at a COCOM, JTF, MEF, MEB, Division, Wing, or MLG staff.•The MAGTF Training SME will have experience leading and training units in the Marine Corps Ground Combat Element (GCE), Logistic Combat Eleme
