Position Overview: As an energy modeler II at Henderson Engineers, you will have the opportunity to contribute your energy analysis expertise to our six market sectors, including Business, Community, Grocery & Distribution, Health, Retail, and Venue. This role is fully devoted to providing detailed energy analysis for LEED certification, code compliance, utility rebate, and/or client energy efficiency goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform detailed energy analysis for LEED certification, Code compliance, utility rebate, and/or client energy efficiency goals
• Analysis of energy savings opportunities and design alternatives
• Working with teams on implementing sustainable and high performance designs
• Providing coordination of project designs with other disciplines
• Maintaining positive client relationships
Required Qualifications:
• 3 years of relevant energy modeling experience with a degree, or 5 years of experience without a degree required
• Degrees accepted: Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural, Mechanical, Efficiency, Renewable Energy, Energy, or Electrical Engineering
• Experience with IES energy simulation software is a must.
• Have strong fundamentals in building physics and heat transfer
• Possess an understanding of HVAC systems and related mechanical concepts (preferred)
• Possess an understanding of building energy performance and simulation methods
Preferred Qualifications:
• Energy simulation software such as eQuest or EnergyPlus.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel for data analysis & visualization
• Experience with scripting using one or more of the following: Python, VBA, R, or similar language
• Experience with Rhino and Grasshopper based simulation tools
• Interest in daylighting, CFD, passive design, renewable energy analysis, and/or HVAC system comparison analysis
• Building performance analysis or energy modeling criteria (C.E.M., BEMP, HBDP, etc.)
• Sustainability accreditation (LEED GA, LEED AP, WELL AP, etc.)
Pay Transparency:

Salary can vary from this range based on geographic cost of labor statistical differentials.
Salary ranges:
Los Angeles Salary Range: $81,070 – $121,605
Las Vegas Salary Range: $73,382 - $110,074
Denver Salary Range: $76,877 - $115,315
New York City Salary Range: $85,263 - $127,895
Philadelphia Salary Range: $76,877 - $115,315
