This position will support the Department of Energy Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED). OCED is a multi-technology office responsible for overseeing more than $20B of investment in large scale demonstrations in emerging technologies such as clean hydrogen, carbon capture, advanced nuclear reactors, grid-scale energy storage, industrial emissions reductions as well as demonstrations in rural and socioeconomically disadvantaged regions. We are looking for individuals with a range of skills and interest in large-scale clean energy demonstration projects, particularly in renewable systems, carbon capture and removal, hydrogen, and nuclear energy technologies.
We're recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to help bring these advanced clean energy projects to life This is a fully remote permanent position.

- Carbon Capture Demonstration Projects Program ($2.5 billion)
- Clean Energy Demonstration Program on Current and Former Mine Land ($500 million)
- Energy Improvements in Rural or Remote Areas ($1 billion)
- Industrial Demonstrations Program ($6.3 billion)
- Long-Duration Energy Storage Demonstrations ($505 million)
- Regional Clean Hydrogen Hubs ($8 billion)
- Regional Direct Air Capture Hubs ($3.5 billion)
Responsibilities will involve leading technical services support in the following areas.
- Establishing Technical Specifications, Requirements and Criteria for Grants or other Solicitations
- Technical Support for Grant Concept Papers and Application Review
- Technical Support for Project Phase and Go/No-Go Decision Reviews
- Oversight of the Project’s Engineering, Procurement and Construction Activities
- Review of Project Business Plan and Management Approach.
- Permitting and Safety
- Community Engagement and Impacts
- Technical Data Collection and Analysis
- Market Advisory Support
- Financial Advisory Support
- Financial Modeling Support
- Grant Structure, Negotiations and Modifications
- Independent Third-Party Advisors
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years of related experience or a master’s degree plus 5 years of related experience.
Clean Energy project management experience is required.
Experience leading technical services for the Department of Energy.
to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearances requirements, US citizenship is required.
