The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced VP of Engineering to join our team at Prosper Marketplace. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, with expertise in fintech, machine learning, and cloud native development. As VP of Engineering, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of talented software engineers, as well as driving the technical direction of the company. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management and data science, to define and execute on our product roadmap. 

Problems You Will Solve

• Lead, grow and elevate the Prosper engineering team. Take the team to higher levels of performance while also growing the team.
• Be data & metrics driven. Gather the appropriate data and make informed, critical decisions quickly.
• Work closely with Prosper’s CTO and Technology leadership team (InfoSec, Architecture, Operations), to help drive overall technical vision and direction regarding platform architecture and evolution. Contribute to the company’s technology roadmap and ensure that the platform is scalable, flexible, reliable, and secure.
• Collaborate closely with Product leadership to ensure the roadmap is on track, best practices are being followed, and that the platform is matured and enhanced in the right places.
• Flawless execution; on a tactical level, streamline and drive efficiency/cohesion in the engineering organization. Implement and achieve continuous integration and continuous delivery, ensure visibility and predictability around engineering processes, systems, etc. Make engineering a scalable and well-oiled machine that consistently delivers on-time, to customer requirements and manages technical debt.
• Work closely with the Prosper product organization to bring innovative new products to market.
• Act as the Engineering organization’s “mission driven leader;” bring high energy, enthusiasm, and a positive, can-do attitude to the team. Lead the team through example and personal passion for Prosper’s mission.
