Oversees the real estate and facilities management activities of FPI Corporate and P.A.’s. Provides strategic leadership and oversight for the development and implementation of FPI’s real estate and facilities master plan and direction for architectural, maintenance and engineering projects. Responsible for capital planning, engineering and design, security infrastructure, and maintenance of physical facilities and properties. Responsible for the day-to-day building management of FPI owned facilities. Directs the facilities project management office to ensure effective oversight and management of construction projects, management of FPI owned building projects, management of positive tenant relations, and corporate planning that supports FPI’s business mission. Provides oversight of building maintenance and enhancement of buildings and space, grounds, and the physical infrastructure in a cost-effective, safe, and environmentally responsible manner. Responsible for overall facilities maintenance and operations, code compliance, planning, design, & construction, finance management, and administration. Respond to strategic requests, initiate consultative services, and act as the focal point for Facilities departmental objectives.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager credential or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration or related discipline preferred
- Ten years or more years of health care experience in operations, strategic planning, project management, business development, facilities management, or related area
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Asset Management – Directs and oversees facilities project management office, including all project
management activities for planning & design and construction & renovation for new and existing
asset capital projects, security infrastructure, move management, operations, maintenance, and
building infrastructure projects. Provides strategic direction, stakeholder management, financial
management, and corporate oversight for facilities projects, including for solicitation and evaluation
of bids and consulting with architects, engineers and various contractors. Works with stakeholders to
develop facilities master plan, and then implements and manages the plan. Develops and implements
annual capital plan. Develops capital budget priorities and works in partnership with executive office
for approval and integration with FPI’s strategic goals.
2. Risk Management – Ensures all facilities management activities meet industry compliance and
standards for federal, state, and local code. Ensures that all facilities activities meet environmental
health and safety requirements. Responds to environmental health and safety requirement needs for
FPI facilities. Works collaboratively with risk and insurance services to identify effective risk mitigation
activities and strategies, including contingency planning. Manages all FPI provided security and all FPI
owned and installed security infrastructure. Provides for FPI risk management policy in these areas.
Oversees emergency management for UMPB and other FPI leased and owned property as needed.
Coordinates and plans with stakeholders in emergency management across organizations – FPI,
UMMS, and UMB.
3. Business Management – Directs FPI Facilities Management team to provide services for FPI executive
office support, Professional Building support, and project management support. Creates and
manages annual occupancy/operating and capital budgets for FPI owned properties. Works with
stakeholders to create, negotiate, review, and execute contracts, including for leases, services, and
projects. Develops and manages operating and capital procurement activities. Provides oversight and
direction for real estate projects – manages new lease and lease renewal process. Responsible for
landlord-tenant relationships for all FPI leases, assisting occupants as needed. Develops and
implements facilities policies and procedures, and approves policies developed by facilities functional
divisions / departments. Develop, collaborate, edit, and finalize presentations for executive
leadership, trustees, and donors, ensuring high-quality communication. Present and support
presentations at the highest level of FPI/SOM/UMMS executives and board.
4. Operations and Maintenance – Directs engineering services team for FPI owned buildings, including
for all engineering support activities (tenant/occupant requests, repairs, interior and exterior
maintenance, MEP support, PMs, and vendor management, etc.) Fosters positive tenant relations in
