The Industrial Engineer Sr., Supply Chain plays a critical role in supporting engineered labor standards (ELS), labor management systems, and process design & optimization across our supply chain network. This role partners closely with fulfillment and distribution center leadership to ensure labor standards are accurate, sustainable, and aligned with operational best practices.
This role serves as a trusted thought partner to operations, workforce planning, engineering leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders. The Senior Industrial Engineer is responsible for leading the design, deployment, and governance of engineered labor standards (ELS), optimizing labor management systems (LMS), and architecting solutions that enhance productivity, reduce cost, and improve the team member experience at scale.
A day in the life
Has advanced knowledge of how to support the development, validation, and maintenance of engineered labor standards (ELS) using time studies, historical data, and predetermined time systems (e.g., MOST, MSD, MTM). Detects gaps between observed time and labor standards, and develops key insights to improve productivity
Serve as the technical SME for LMS integrations, performance tracking, and labor standard configurations in partnership with WFM, operations, and IT teams.
Collaborate with operations, labor planning, and workforce management teams to ensure labor standards are integrated into Labor Management Systems (LMS) and used effectively for performance tracking
Conduct performance audits and observations to identify deviations from standards and drive corrective action or refinement.
Analyze and evaluate methods for optimal operations. Outlines alternatives for processes, equipment, and system design
Leads the development and rollout of standard work documents to support direct and indirect process standard adoption across the network.
Develop and standardize network-wide processes and best practices that improve throughput, labor efficiency, and safety while reducing operational variability.
Collects data and performs complex data analysis to understand current state conditions that will be used to drive continuous improvement ideas, capacity analysis, cost/benefit analysis, and change initiatives and projects.
Develops knowledge of distribution and fulfillment best practices and engineering standards. Leverages best practices and engineering standards in the development of engineered labor standards to reduce variation in measured tasks.
Collects data and performs complex data analysis to understand current state conditions that will be used to drive continuous improvement ideas, capacity analysis, cost/benefit analysis, and change initiatives and projects.
Utilize existing AutoCAD layouts to support XYZ data mapping for warehouse travel calculations.
Performs machine speed testing that involves timing various pieces of equipment horizonal, vertical, and turning speeds with a radar device.
