Position Summary

The Sr. Manager, Field Operations leads the Clinical Research Associates and Clinical Field Specialists team. This role establishes operational objectives and policies while serving as the escalation point for field operations issues. The position supports Project Managers who have dotted-line responsibility for team members during study execution, ensuring successful clinical research activities across multiple sites and studies while maintaining regulatory compliance.
 

Responsibilities and Duties

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead Clinical Research Associates (CRAs) and Clinical Field Specialist teams

  • Establish operational objectives, policies, and procedures for field operations

  • Conduct performance management, including goal setting and performance reviews

  • Serve as an escalation point for operational issues during study execution

  • Support project managers while maintaining direct line management of field teams

Strategic Planning & Operations

  • Develop field operations strategies aligned with corporate clinical development objectives

  • Collaborate with project managers on study strategy execution and resource optimization

  • Oversee clinical site management activities and regulatory compliance

  • Monitor study progress, enrollment metrics, and data quality across assigned studies

Clinical Oversight & Site Support

  • Oversee patient recruitment programs

  • Manage case proctoring schedules and ensure procedural support during uRDN procedures

  • Ensure compliance with GCP, FDA regulations, and company procedures

  • Coordinate investigational product management and distribution

  • Review critical study documents and operational procedures

Stakeholder Management

  • Interact with senior management, project managers, and clinical site personnel

  • Present operational updates and recommendations to executive leadership

  • Build relationships with key opinion leaders and clinical research networks

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, or related healthcare field; Master's degree preferred

  • Minimum 8-10 years of clinical research experience with at least 5 years in management roles

  • Strong understanding of GCP, FDA regulations, and clinical trial requirements

  • Experience with cardiovascular or medical device clinical trials preferred

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills

  • Experience managing matrix organizations and conflict resolution


Salary range: $180K - $205K (Commensurate with experience, skills, education and training)
