About the role

Job Summary:

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing inventory at Midco’s Warehouse and Inventory facilities by accurately receiving incoming shipments and picking and processing all outgoing shipments using inventory control systems to support internal and external customers.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process all incoming and outgoing shipments by prepping, picking, loading, unloading, and securing the equipment.
  • Ensure shipments are accurate and undamaged, while safely loading and unloading them.
  • Accurately distribute equipment to the appropriate personnel
  • Actively collaborate cross-departmentally ensuring effective communication related to inventory or processing of orders.
  • Maintain and organize Midco's inventory using the inventory system, ensuring a clean and safe work environment.
  • Process new & used CPE ensuring correct status and inventory location within necessary software programs.
  • Process timely and accurate requisition orders to replenish the inventory as needed.
  • Accurately key inventory data and conduct precise inventory cycle counts.
  • Provide clerical and administrative support as necessary.
  • Successfully complete ongoing training as necessary and/or as directed.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Midco’s safety program, enforce safety rules and procedures, wear appropriate safety apparel (including hard hats, safety vests, OSHA approved boots), and operate all equipment safely.
  • Operate and drive a company vehicle in compliance with all Midco policies and procedures, ensuring safety, efficiency, and adherence to traffic laws. Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure regular maintenance and repairs are conducted as scheduled to uphold a professional image as directed by leadership.
  • Model Midco’s mission, vision, values, ethos, and Leadership Success Drivers, and inspire others to do the same.
  • Ensure customer privacy by adhering to Midco’s privacy guidelines while actively following Midco policies and procedures.
  • Maintain reliable and predictable attendance as required by the position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. A DUI conviction within the past five years will result in disqualification from employment in this position.

Note: Team Members will be assigned a level based on the required experience and training. Advancement is sequential and contingent upon successful completion of all requirements at the preceding level, including certifications, proficiency tests, and time-in-role or equivalent experience where applicable.

Inventory Control Specialist I

  • Previous inventory or warehouse experience preferred.
  • Proficient in general computer operations, including web browsing, email, instant messaging, video conferencing, and Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Have the ability to obtain certification to operate material handling equipment, such as forklift and/or skid steer.

Inventory Control Specialist II

  • 1 year in role or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient with inventory software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and be resourceful, while exercising sound judgment on when to include the broader team.
  • Cross-train to support internal teams to meet business needs.

Inventory Control Specialist III

  • 3 years in role or equivalent experience.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and be able to perform at a high level in a time sensitive environment.
  • Ability to perform detailed work in an accurate and organized manner .
  • Mentor new team members as required.

Inventory Control Specialist IV

  • 5 years in role or equivalent experience.
  • Provide daily guidance to the inventory control team as directed by leadership.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align inventory practices with business goals.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in inventory management.

Inventory Control Specialist V

  • 8 years in role or equivalent experience.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert within the department and supporting areas.
  • Lead large-scale inventory projects and transformations.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in inventory management.
