Hours: 3-12 hour shifts per a week
The Patient Care Technician-Phlebotomist access patient requisitions/labels, collect samples of blood from patients of all ages in a timely manner and keep work flow at a smooth pace. Draws and collects blood samples from patients, verifies records and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis. May prick finger to draw blood. Can also perform routine duties within the limits of training and certification in caring for the hospitalized patient. The care is rendered under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Performs other duties related to the work described herein.
Additional Job Description
Education: High School Degree or GED is required. Completion of an Accredited Phlebotomy Certificate Course is preferred
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) with the American Heart Association (AHA) is required. Phlebotomy certification is preferred
