Ochsner Health is seeking a Board Certified/ Orthopedic Foot and Ankle surgeon. Ochsner Health is an integrated healthcare system with more than 36,000 employees and over 4,600 employed and affiliated physicians in over 90 medical specialties and subspecialties. It operates 47 hospitals and more than 370 health and urgent care centers across Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and the Gulf South.
Under the direction of the Department Chair, the Section Head serves in a strategic leadership role with oversight of foot and ankle related surgery. The Section Head will collaborate with the chair of Podiatry to create the leading foot and ankle program in the region. This position will also drive the clinical and quality performance of the section and ensure patient safety and satisfaction, as well as physician engagement.
Position Highlights:
- The successful candidate will possess proven leadership, team-building, and managerial experience - and a demonstrated track record of driving successful program growth. Areas of administrative responsibility include physician recruiting, performance assessment, quality of care, financial performance, patient experience goals, medical staff management, engagement, strategic development in the context of Ochsner’s system strategy and operating system and basic knowledge of potential synergies across the system, including the podiatry department.
- Clinical Sites: Ochsner Hospital for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, an Orthopedic specialty hospital, and Ochsner Medical Center. These are located in the Greater New Orleans Region.
- Team and Support: The foot and ankle program is supported by a diverse team of orthopedic nurses, medical assistants, advanced practice providers, and certified therapists, ensuring comprehensive patient care.
- Academic and Research Opportunities: Ochsner has a residency program and is involved in research. This is a clinical and educational focused position, yet the ideal candidate will also pursue academic and research efforts. Affiliation with several medical schools means there will be opportunities for teaching and collaboration.
- Call Rotation: Shared call rotation in New Orleans at Ochsner Medical Center.
