Position Overview:
As part of the talented Mercury team, you will be part of the Plant 103 Parts & Accessories Global Distribution Center. As a supervisor on 1st shift you will be supervising and coordinating the activities of assigned areas to ensure efficient utilization of manpower and equipment to maximize effectiveness of packaging and distribution operations. Responsible for administering processes and procedures to optimize material flow throughout the distribution process and facilitate a safe and lean environment to ensure we exceed customer demands.

Essential Functions:
- Supervise and manage daily production activities of approximately 20 to 50 employees.
- Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment.
- Establish work procedures and assign duties to employees to ensure schedules are met to meet exceptional customer satisfaction.
- Responsible for maintaining inventory levels on packaging materials and other product.
- Periodically check employees work to assure compliance with specifications and that work is progressing at a satisfactory rate.
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of work.
- Systems user of all systems and programs related to packaging and warehousing.
- Interpret company policies to employees.
- Maintain a good working relationship with all customers (both internal and external) and suppliers.
- Review and evaluate performance of employees.
- Document recommend and issue discipline to employees as required.
- Provide inventory and departmental status to higher management.
- Instruct and help employees in their daily duties.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Operations Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Previous supervisory experience and a minimum of 3 years in distribution related experience.
- Awareness of safety regulations and OSHA standards.
- Technical aptitude to troubleshoot minor repairs of warehouse related equipment.
- First-hand experience applying lean manufacturing concepts.
- Knowledge of quality standards and production techniques.
- Ability to teach and train personnel the operation of mechanical equipment.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in warehouse operations.
- Responsible for submission of daily/weekly timekeeping.
- Customer service-oriented mentality with the ability to follow instructions.
- Demonstrated ability to solve practical problems.
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor.
- The ability to communicate and comprehend information both verbal and written with work associates and customers in the completion of job responsibilities and other needs so others will understand. Proficiency in English both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous working knowledge of distribution warehouse management system with Manhattan WM or similar application.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
