The Facility Maintenance Tech will be responsible for performing all general building maintenance, cleaning and upkeep as required. This position will also be responsible for following weekly and monthly scheduled tasks as directed by DC Facility Management.


Responsibilities

 

  • Plan and perform all maintenance and repair operations necessary to keep facility property, equipment, machinery, and tools in good operating condition.
  • Diagnose problems and work in many varied and diversified capacities required in general maintenance.
  • Install, dismantle, or move machinery and heavy equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, or other drawings.
  • Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery or equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance (changing filters, light bulbs, maintaining equipment batteries, plumbing, etc.) and ensures compliance with system and/or facility policies and procedures, as well as federal and state regulations.
  • Perform carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, drywall, and all other facets of maintaining the facilities. Basic woodworking and metalwork projects (and use of associated hand and power tools required) Light construction including: (Framing, drywall/finishing, paint and flooring) Moving or adjusting workspaces.

Requirements

 

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Vocational or Technical degree or certification preferred.
  • Min. 3 years' experience in  construction, facility maintenance, plumbing, electrical, HVAC or related trade.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction, upkeep or repair of buildings and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints, drawings or schematics a plus.
