Pay Schedule: Range 14 ($111,802 - $128,850)

Work Schedule: 225 days/12 months

Location: Onsite & Remote Office

 

Position Statement

The job of Senior Administrator of IT, Data & Student Security leads and strengthens Sage Oak’s cybersecurity, data governance, and privacy programs; establishes and oversees enterprise security and compliance frameworks; manages identity, access, and application risk governance; directs incident response and organizational preparedness efforts; cultivates a culture of security awareness and responsible technology use; and ensures the protection of student and staff data in alignment with applicable laws, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards.

Essential Functions

  1. Supports department leadership in executing the department's shared vision to ensure aligned, effective, and responsive department and program implementation.
  2. Conducts research on laws and trends that pertain to the department, as needed to support compliant practices and informed decision-making.
  3. Supports the tracking and monitoring of specific budget items as assigned to ensure responsible use of resources within the department.
  4. Support staff performance and evaluation processes by conducting observations and evaluations as assigned, providing feedback, and assisting with corrective actions as needed.
  5. Develop and deliver training, resources, and coaching (as assigned) to strengthen staff capacity and support effective implementation of school and departmental initiatives.
  6. Coordinate the implementation and refinement of department systems, procedures, and initiatives to improve operational effectiveness, address identified needs, and ensure consistent application across assigned programs.
  7. Maintain and update department policies, procedures, and manuals (e.g., drafting revisions, organizing documentation, ensuring accessibility) to ensure alignment with school goals, legal requirements, and best practices.
  8. Participate in hiring and onboarding processes (e.g., screening, interviewing, training support) in collaboration with department leadership and Human Resources to support cohesive, high-performing teams that reflect the organization's mission, values, and culture.
  9. Maintain collaborative relationships with staff, families, and educational partners to enhance collaboration, advocacy, and shared ownership of Sage Oak’s success.
  10. Leads enterprise security and compliance governance (e.g., regulatory alignment, internal audits, risk reporting, performance metrics, etc.) to strengthen data protection practices and maintain institutional compliance with evolving legal and educational standards.
  11. Directs identity and access management strategy (e.g., user lifecycle governance, least-privilege enforcement, recurring access reviews, etc.) to safeguard systems, prevent unauthorized access, and maintain strong internal controls.
  12. Oversees application and vendor risk management (e.g., third-party risk reviews, DPA analysis, application inventory oversight, pre-go-live security validation, etc. ) to ensure technology solutions meet data governance, security, and privacy requirements throughout their lifecycle.
  13. Leads incident response and security operations (e.g., containment coordination, escalation protocols, post-incident improvement planning, documentation oversight, etc.) to mitigate impact, reduce organizational risk, and strengthen resilience.
  14. Designs and sustains incident preparedness programs (e.g., tabletop exercises, response procedure testing, communication templates, evidence preservation guidance, etc.) to ensure coordinated and effective response during security events.
