About Dining at the Oceana
La Monique is an intimate, modern French brasserie where timeless tradition meets the soul of Santa Monica, designed by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio. Opened in Fall 2025, it is complemented by:
La Petite Monique – an alfresco extension offering a relaxed yet refined experience
The Veranda – a premier poolside dining venue serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner
Sunset Terrace – a rooftop lounge with panoramic ocean views
In-Room Dining – delivering elevated culinary experiences in the comfort of each guest suite
About the Role
As a Server, you will play a key role in delivering a seamless and memorable guest experience. You will provide attentive, efficient, and personalized service while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and hospitality.
Success in this role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to anticipate and exceed guest expectations in a fast-paced luxury environment.
What You’ll Do
Guest Service & Operations
Greet guests warmly and provide knowledgeable menu recommendations
Accurately take and enter food and beverage orders into the POS system
Communicate dietary restrictions, allergies, and special requests to the kitchen
Deliver food and beverages promptly while ensuring proper presentation
Monitor guest satisfaction and anticipate needs throughout the dining experience
Resolve guest concerns professionally and escalate when needed
Restaurant & Banquet Support
Complete opening and closing side work
Support banquet and special event service, including setup and breakdown
Coordinate timing and service flow with kitchen and events teams
Cleanliness & Organization
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked service area
Bus, reset, and maintain tables efficiently
Follow all sanitation and food safety standards
Monitor inventory levels and notify leadership of shortages

Valid California Food Handler Card (required)
Food safety certifications (e.g., ServSafe, Responsible Beverage Service) (required)
Previous restaurant experience required; hotel or fine dining experience preferred
Schedule & Expectations
Full-time schedule based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with hotel grooming standards

*New employees accrue 40 hours of vacation in the first year and earn 80 hours of paid sick leave per year. Eligible employees also receive holiday pay (if working) or paid holidays (if scheduled off) for six holidays each year.
