As a Senior Risk Manager in Capital One’s Card Risk Team you will apply your risk management, project management and analytical skills to our highest profile risk initiatives. Senior Risk Managers are at the front line of defense to ensure our company remains stable and profitable. They lead, advise and innovate on top transformational initiatives across the businesses in the first line of defense and are responsible for working with business stakeholders to identify and mitigate potential risks to Capital One. In this role you will have the opportunity to support our US Card Third Party business risks  through the product development lifecycle from ideation to execution

Sr. Risk Managers have a high level of exposure across lines of business and have the opportunity to partner with Executives and their teams to identify potential risks in an open, collaborative environment where new ideas and solutions are both welcomed and rewarded.

 

Responsibilities:

• Work with business teams and other key stakeholders to help develop well-designed products, processes, marketing, and supporting technologies and implement risk management practices; support our business partners on risk / return trade-off decisions

• Lead risk related initiatives such as process/ control improvements; including partnering with the business to develop process hierarchies and control formalization

• Stay abreast of the changing regulatory environment and understand the impacts to the business areas and lead mitigation efforts across impacted areas

• Lead ad-hoc projects to improve processes or control environment to mitigate risks 

• Participates in risk forums and business reporting routines and contributes to continuous improvement of risk management practices

• Analyze data to proactively identify emerging risks and trends

• Set and deliver on our well-managed agenda

Basic Qualifications:  

• Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience 

• At least 5 years of experience working in risk management or financial services

• At least 4 years of program management experience

• At least 4 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clients

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Masters Degree

• 6+ years of Project Management experience leading cross functional projects and programs in Risk

• 6+ years of program management experience leading cross functional risk programs

• 6+ years of financial services risk management experience

• 3+ years experience in Agile or design thinking

• 4+ years of Compliance, Legal, Audit, or first or second line Risk Management experience

• 4+ years of Project or Process Management experience

• 3+ years of experience in reporting and analyzing data

• Certified Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM)

• PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
