Summary of Job Duties:

Jean Tyson Child Development Study Center In-Class Assistant performs tasks to aid students with the physical mechanics and dexterity requirements of classroom duties that a student may need support in completing. The in-class assistant only performs tasks directed by the student; they do not explain or interpret assignments/questions, and the result of their support should not influence or guide a student in any way. In-class assistants are provided for academic curriculum support only and may not provide assistance of a personal nature.

FALL 2024 DUTIES:
The In-Class Assistant will assist student with gathering specific items identified by the student from closets then transport the items into the classroom and place the items in location determined by student. When the student is implementing the experience to the children’s class, follow the student’s directions on iPad camera placement/angles for student to take pictures or videos. Following in-class experience, assist the student with gathering items from classroom and transporting them to closet then placing items back in correct location in closet(s).

Assistant will not take notes or participate in classwork. The assistant is a physical proxy for the student, performing tasks the student would otherwise perform on their own.
