The NYU School of Professional Studies seeks an Academic Director and Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor for the graduate Management and Analytics (MSMA) program offered by the Division of Programs in Business. The anticipated start term is Fall 2026; the rank of the position will depend on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

The successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to help shape and grow the graduate program at the intersection of management and technology. More specifically, the Academic Director will teach within the program, support faculty development, manage curriculum quality, advise students, collaborate with other faculty and industry partners, engage with the broader NYU SPS academic community, and support the program initiatives set forth by departmental and dean’s leadership. Currently, the program is offered exclusively in the in-person modality.

Given the MSMA program’s hands-on, industry-aligned focus, preference will be given to candidates with results-driven industry experience, specifically in business analytics (e.g., data analytics, marketing analytics, risk analytics, etc.) or business informatics (implementation of technology solutions to support organizational data analytics); moreover, it is also essential for the candidate to have experience working with a wide range of professionals and have experience or evidence of the potential for success in teaching a broad population of students, including first generation students and international students.

Primary Responsibilities: In consultation with divisional and departmental leadership within the Division of Programs in Business, the Academic Director of Management & Analytics coordinates academic operations related to the program, including oversight of the curriculum, student advising, and adjunct faculty.

The candidate will be expected to perform the following responsibilities:

●      Lead program assessment and initiatives to support program and course quality

●      Advance thought leadership through applied industry research

●      Build industry relationships and partnerships to enhance the program’s connection to the workplace

●      Recruit high-quality faculty and support faculty development in teaching and scholarship

●      Support the student experience through advising, mentoring, and participating in student-led activities

●      Contribute collaboratively to advancing the Division’s, School’s, and NYU’s mission and strategy

The Academic Director is responsible for communicating and enforcing SPS and NYU policies, particularly those about academics, students, and faculty, and collaborates with other SPS and NYU offices, such as admissions, event management, and student affairs.

As the faculty leader for the MS in Management & Analytics, the Academic Director is expected to model the highest standards of professional conduct regarding all SPS and NYU policies, including but not limited to SPS’s Appointment, Reappointment, and Promotion Policy and NYU’s Faculty Handbook, Code of Ethical Behavior, Bias/Discrimination, Sexual Harassment, Conflict of Interest, and Office of Equal Opportunity Policies.

Reporting to the Chair of the Management & Technology Department, the Academic Director will work closely with various academic and administrative teams to implement the vision to enhance and expand the MSMA program’s profile and visibility locally, nationally, and internationally. The Academic Director will also work directly with industry professionals and academics to advance the division's applied professional mission.  This full-time position is a nine-month appointment with a two-year renewable faculty contract. The Academic Director role is an annual, twelve-month administrative appointment that runs concurrent with the faculty role.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $100,000-$160,000.  The range for the annual administrative stipend is $10,000-$50,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
