The Opportunity:

  • The EOUSA CACI team supports the mission of the 93 US Attorneys offices throughout the United States and its territories. We provide the operations, maintenance and development of commercial and government applications used to manage the US Attorneys cases.
  • We are seeking a half-time detail-oriented and highly skilled Technical Writer to join the CACI team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining technical documentation that supports EOUSA Enterprise Application Development (EAD) Division’s cloud migration project.
  • This includes manuals, user guides, maintenance instructions, and system documentation for AWS cloud environments. The Technical Writer will collaborate closely with engineers, subject matter experts, and project managers to ensure documentation is accurate, clear, and compliant.
  • A strong understanding of cloud technology terminology and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into accessible content is essential.

Responsibilities:

As a Technical Writer, Editor, supporting EOUSA EAD Division, you will:

  • Research, analyze, coordinate, and prepare for distribution of a variety of material/information that supports the mission, activities, and initiatives of the new AWS cloud environment and its associated applications.
  • Work with other organizational entities within EAD Developing Technical documents representing the new cloud environment and associated applications deployed to the cloud.
  • Serve as an expert and point of contact (POC) in product creation, editing, and configuration control of products being developed.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure documentation complies with Section 508 and meets regulatory requirements where applicable.
  • Serve as a technical authority in grammar, style, and formatting and participate in workflow management.
  • Perform comprehensive editorial reviews and analyze work products to ensure that objective, style, and manner of presentation aligned with EAD overall goals and target audience.
  • Use Microsoft Office, Adobe Systems, and graphic design software and publishing tools to develop mission-driven artwork.
  • Assists in developing enterprise and system documentation, including design documents, operation documents, release notes, and online user help systems in support of EAD.
  • Clearly and concisely take complex technical information and translate into written products/deliverables.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to create and maintain user and administrator documentation for software applications.
  • Participates in documentation gathering processes and attend documentation review meetings.
  • Helps transform technical team documents into narratives, specifications, flowcharts, and process flows.
  • Research and test applications to gather content and ensure documentation accuracy.
  • Creates written content and diagrams to communicate COTS and GOTS information for various audiences.
  • Contributes to the development of documentation standards and best practices.
  • Assists with transition-in activities, helping create deliverables, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and other artifacts.
  • Drafts communications regarding project issues, objectives, and initiatives.
  • Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments.


Qualifications:


Required:

  • US citizen
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Able to work independently with the ability to employ innovative ideas to accomplish tasks.
  • Demonstrated excellent writing and grammar skills.
  • Proven experience working with developers and designing and delivering developer-oriented documentation.
  • Experience writing and editing technical reports and technical documentation using word processing systems (Word), desktop publishing (Publisher), presentation systems (PowerPoint), Adobe Systems, and spreadsheet systems (Excel).

Desired:

  • Previous experience writing AWS cloud documentation and Java based
