As Senior Engineering Manager, Mechanical Electrical and Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) for the Global Facilities Engineering department at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible to lead the Global Multi-Discipline Engineering team and provide Engineering system ownership and technical support for the planning, design, construction, operations, and maintenance programs of the critical Facilities systems. In this role, your Engineering team will support the Micron Semiconductor Manufacturing sites across the network, including Facilities and Manufacturing teams, through all phases of design, construction, installation, start-up, operations and maintenance with focus and emphasis on Global Standardization and Alignment, Innovation, Reliability and Performance, and Sustainability.
The Facilities Mechanical system ownership and responsibilities for your team will include for the Semiconductor Mechanical and Process Systems including Cleanroom HVAC, Chilled Water, Heating Water, Makeup Air, Recirculation Air, Process Cooling Water, Process Exhaust, Compressed Air, Process Vacuum, General HVAC, Building and Fire Protection systems, etc.
The Facilities Electrical system ownership and responsibilities will include for the Facilities Infrastructure and Semiconductor Electrical Systems including High Voltage, Medium Voltage, and Low Voltage Electrical Systems, Critical and Emergency Electrical Backup Systems, Sag Mitigation Systems and Uninterruptible Power Supplies, Variable Frequency Drives, Lighting, Electrical Distribution Systems, and Manufacturing tool and equipment power.
The Facilities system I&C ownership and responsibilities will include for the I&C, FMCS, SCADA, Life Safety Systems, Toxic Gas Monitoring, Telecom, and Security systems, as well as other Facilities Mechanical, Electrical, Process, and Building systems. This role will also lead the Facilities Digitalization and SMART Facilities program initiatives.
Lead and Manage Multi-Discipline Engineering Team
- Provide expert understanding of Semiconductor Facilities Mechanical, Electrical, and I&C System Engineering Technical Domain including for Engineering, Design, Construction, Operational, and Maintenance capabilities in order to lead the Engineering team and provide critical support to Global Network
- Technically lead the Global Multi-Discipline Engineering team focused on strategic and operational excellence
- Support building a skilled, strategic Engineering team for Mechanical, Electrical, I&C, and other subject areas (recruitment, training, staffing, and retention)
- Invest time in coaching, mentoring, and developing team member’s career paths
- Drive team engagement, inspiring and motivating the team to do their best and achieve daring goals
- Provide leadership on Global Facilities initiatives, providing transparency and line of sight for the Engineering team
- Assist the Director in building a coordinated strategic plan, including driving innovation and ground-breaking initiatives.
- Support the network effort to implement, supervise and drive continuous improvement for success of Micron’s strategic programs and initiatives
- Identify, manage and monitor key performance indicators for the department. Set Facility Engineering goals based on Global Network priorities and facilities areas of focus and direction to the department
- Provide technical advice and support to overcome challenges and roadblocks in project planning & execution
Collaborate with Stakeholders, Partners, and Global Network Sites on Multi-Discipline related topics
- Initiate and sustain effective communication with team members, partners, and collaborators (top-down)
- Share updates back to the Director, Engineering Leadership Teams, and Engineering Teams (bottom-up)
- Advance issues, offering options and recommendations for resolution
- Communicate strategic department goals, project execution plans, programs and initiatives, and targets
- Provide advice to senior and executive management on strategic decisions.
Provide Technical Support, Leadership, and Expertise
- Lead Global Multi-Discipline Engineering team to provide consultation and support to Global, Regional, and Site Facilities and Manufacturing teams as the Technical Field Domain Expert.
