As a Server at Poza, rooftop pool, restaurant and bar, you are the heartbeat of the guest experience. You will deliver exceptional food and beverage service with grace, attentiveness, and style—reflecting the luxury and sophistication of L’Ermitage Beverly Hills. Your knowledge of our menu, attention to detail, and intuitive hospitality will help craft memorable moments by the pool and under the stars.
JOB SUMMARY:
- Deliver exceptional guest service by greeting, seating, assisting, and serving guests in dining and poolside areas; take food and beverage orders, enter orders into the POS system, deliver items, ensure guest satisfaction, present checks, and process payments.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of food, beverage, wine, beer, cocktail, coffee, tea, and espresso offerings, including daily specials, to answer questions, make recommendations, and maximize revenue through suggestive selling and upselling.
- Be perceptive, proactive, and engaging. Anticipate and personalize the guest experience when possible; remember your guest and their requests. Support VIP and special occasion service, encourage repeat visits, and professionally resolve guest concerns by escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Set up, organize, and maintain dining rooms, poolside areas, service stations, bars, and seasonal outdoor seating areas, including arranging furniture, umbrellas, lounge chairs, tables, towels, and other guest amenities according to established standards.
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness, appearance, safety, and organization of dining, pool, and service areas by clearing and sanitizing tables, resetting lounge furniture, removing debris and trash, stocking supplies, and ensuring all areas remain guest-ready throughout the day.
- Complete all opening, closing, side work, and pre-service duties, including stocking and replenishing supplies, preparing service items, polishing glassware and flatware, handling linens and towels, storing cushions, organizing inventory, and performing assigned deep-cleaning tasks.
- Maintain inventory and availability of operational supplies, including towels, beverages, service items, condiments, amenities, and other guest-use products.
- Demonstrate knowledge of table and seat numbers and operate efficiently and professionally during high-volume, fast-paced, and high-stress service periods.
- Follow all food safety, allergy awareness, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service practices, including communicating allergy concerns, recognizing signs of intoxication and refusing alcohol service when appropriate.
- Promote a safe environment by monitoring pool and facility safety standards, enforcing pool rules, observing weather conditions, identifying hazards, and supporting emergency response procedures when required.
- Report maintenance, equipment, furniture, or facility issues promptly to the appropriate department and coordinate with housekeeping, engineering, and other departments to ensure seamless guest service.
- Accurately handle cash, credit card transactions, tip and service charge procedures, end-of-shift reconciliations, cash deposits, and manager check-outs in accordance with company policies.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment by collaborating with colleagues, assisting team members as needed, and maintaining open communication with management regarding guest or employee concerns.
- Understand and use safe work practices for all safety precautions including Emergency Evacuation Procedures, Violence in the Workplace, Accident Reporting, OSHA Compliance, and Bloodborne Pathogen Procedures.
- Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
- Comply with all policies as outlined in the Handbook, Property Supplement, or otherwise issued including time and attendance expectations, uniform and dress code standards, anti-harassment policy, and substances in the workplace.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management to support departmental and operational needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
- Ability to work outside seasonally in various weather for up to 8 hours.
