Senior Researcher in Ecosystem based marine management, nature restoration, and anthropogenic impacts on ecosystems - DTU Aqua

About the role

We are seeking a senior researcher that is expected to work maximum 10 hours per week and with experience within the research areas anthropogenic impacts on ecosystems and ecosystem-based management.

Responsibilities and qualifications
The focus of this part-time position is to contribute to the section’s research on marine Ecosystem Based Marine Management (EBMM), nature restoration and anthropogenic impacts on ecosystems. The applicant will work closely with colleagues on existing projects and may also be assigned specific Work Package or Task leads.

The applicant should have work experience with research and advise on EBMM, nature restoration and anthropogenic impacts on ecosystems in the Baltic seas. 

Moreover, research experience on fish life histories and communities including field work is an advantage. 

The position requires specialized work and research experience with:

  • Marine Ecosystem Based Management, incl. Systems Approach Framework (SAF) and Integrated Coastal zone Management (ICM),
  • Marine fish habitats and nature restoration,
  • Marine citizen science and stakeholder engagement, and
  • Marine national and international research based advise and research dissemination.

You must contribute to teaching at the Department. DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. You are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages, and in time are expected to master both.

As a formal qualification you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) as well as academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding a position as a senior researcher. To be appointed as a senior researcher, you must have completed a didactic/pedagogic education. If you do not have the necessary education, then it is possible to complete this requirement within a period of two years of appointment.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union. 

Starting date is 1/7-26 (or according to mutual agreement). The position is a part-time position for 10 hours/ per week.
