- Position Summary
- One temporary hourly-intermittent student assistant position(s) available in the Learning Commons.
Serves as a Learning Commons student assistant for the front desk - the connection, communication, and clerical hub of services and operations. Front desk student assistants welcome and connect students to services, complete clerical tasks, and share how the Learning Commons contributes to student success through a variety of communication tools and marketing events. Applicants must have a work study award as part of their financial aid. This position will have a special focus on outreach, supporting front desk operations, and special projects.
- Start Date
- One position available on or after September 23, 2024 and ending on or before May 31, 2025. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.
- Job Description/Duties
- Duties include but are not limited to:
- Greets guests and route to the appropriate department/staff.
- Assists with filing and tracking using paper and electronic systems.
- Assists with running errands to other buildings/departments.
- Assists with data entry.
- Assists with answering phones, emails and routing inquires to the appropriate staff in a professional manner.
- Assists with referring students to other campus and community resources.
- Assist with logistics for meetings, outreach and events.
- Assists with development of marketing materials and social media connections.
- Communicates and works with teams to complete projects.
- Assist students in scheduling appointments and responding to inquires using our learning center management platform, StanTutor.
- Monitor and assist with any questions.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
- Must have received and accepted Financial Aid award for the current semester/year in which you are applying.
- Salary Range
- $16.00 per hour.
