The IT Manager, Global Color Platform Modernization is responsible for the overall execution of the strategy, planning, communication, and driving the work related to the platform modernization within Global Color. They will have direct oversite of their development team and vendor teams involved in the effort. The incumbent will drive agility, speed, and value creation by modernizing digital software products through Microservices design. The role encompasses collaboration with development teams to transform high-level business requirements into distributed microservices, fostering a product mindset, and aligning with the organization's strategic vision. This will be achieved by partnering with Program Management and the Global Color Architect to understand strategy, priorities, project backlog and plan team resources appropriately. Additionally, the IT Manager, Global Color Platform Modernization will partner closely with the Product Owners and Product Management team to create, maintain, and prioritize the backlog of modernization work in alignment with the product roadmap, program strategy and execution plan.

The IT Manager, Global Color Platform Modernization will be responsible for aligning with program managers and the IT projects and strategic objectives of the business, and run the business activities, optimize resources, and ensure continuity of communication across all stakeholders and project teams. The success of the IT Manager, Global Color Platform Modernization will be tied to the overall success of Global Color IT teams, projects, and ability to deliver on established strategic platform transformation plans.
This role will have direct reports of software developers aligned to the Global Color Platform Modernization.
Strategy & Planning
- Lead and champion the Global Color platform modernization.
- Drive the strategy and lead the development teams by prioritizing work and ensuring teams are focused on modernizing platform capabilities that are in alignment with the overall program plan.
- Establish and foster trusting relationships with Global Color Leadership, stakeholders, and development teams.
- Work with product owners and the product management team to build the team backlogs and define the short-term and long-term roadmap of the platform.
- Coordinate the execution of all Global Color IT involved projects and prepare the team for the execution of said projects.
- Facilitate continuous improvement to help mature the team’s delivery process.
- Awareness of all phases of initiatives from discovery through completion including project reviews, feasibility, prioritization, initiation, execution, and long-term support for all project work.
- Drive the execution of the Global Color IT initiatives across collaborative and cross-functional teams.
- Work closely with program managers and Global Color stakeholders to ensure resource allocation and forecasting for the team is appropriately staffed.
- Assess dependencies, risk, impact, mitigation plans while viewing all projects within the center of excellence
- Determine staffing and skills requirements.
- Drive change.
Acquisition & Deployment
- Serve as solution delivery expert for all platform modernization related work and enhancements.
- Maintain effective working relationships with project teams, program managers, peers, stakeholders and vendors to seamlessly integrate your team’s work into the overall strategic objectives and activities of the program.
- Work with development managers, architects, and other leadership to ensure conformance of system architecture, standards and practices.
- Work to mitigate risk to budget, timelines and resource availability for projects and assume responsibility for stakeholder sign offs.
- Support, advise, and assist in resolving issues as needed.
Operational Management
- Provide Global Color Modernization initiatives visibility and reporting of projects to program managers and leadership team.
- Familiar with existing systems to track and manage requests and issues used by project team.
- Conduct staffing, performance, and resource management activities to help drive strategic direction of team.
