Under the general supervision of the Chief Radiation Therapy Technologist, the Radiation Therapist's functions will include:
- Applying ionizing radiation according to MD's prescription
- Patient scheduling and appointments
- Performing basic nursing duties
- Performing dose calculations
- Treatment data entry
- Working with physicians, physicists and dosimetrists to perform simulations and treatment planning CT's
This is a 49% Per Diem position and will be working in Downtown Los Angeles, Santa Clarita, Santa Monica and Westwood, locations in addition to future sites as assigned.
Salary Range: $105.96 Hourly

Job Qualifications

Required:
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification (ARRT License)
- California State License in Radiation Therapy (CRT)
- BLS/CPR from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Skill in working with different types of treatment machines such as MR Scanner, CT Scanner, HDR units and Linear Accelerators and ability to recognize when hazardous conditions may exist.
- Skill in working with different types of treatment machines such as MR Scanner, CT Scanner, HDR units and Linear Accelerators and ability to recognize when hazardous conditions may exist.
- Ability to lift cerrobend blocks weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Knowledge of basic physics as applicable to Radiation Therapy.
- Ability to use an electronic calculator to perform dose calculations.
- Knowledge of a variety of treatment techniques to assist physicians in treatment planning to ensure optimum treatment is given to all patients.
- Skill in recognizing and reporting any adverse patient therapy reactions.
- Knowledge of the principles and applications of thermo-luminescent dosimeters.
- Skill in reading documents written with medical terminology and ability to read and implement computer-gen
