The Department of Marketing is hiring six (6) Student Assistants for the Spring 2026 semester to support an AI-integrated curriculum initiative. Each position pays $16.50 - $17.50 per hour for approximately 10 hours per week over the 16-week spring term.

Student Assistants will work closely with faculty to evaluate and enhance course learning outcomes and instructional materials through the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) tools and high-impact practices (HIPs). This position requires students with basic technical and critical-thinking skills who can collaborate effectively and communicate feedback clearly.

Responsibilities:

Under direct supervision, duties include but not limited to:
- Assess current course learning outcomes and assessment tools.
- Watch CSU AI training materials on assigned software and tools.
- Assist in testing and evaluating AI software for usability and relevance to marketing and business education.
- Assist faculty with re-designing course assessments and instructional materials to incorporate AI tools and HIPs.
- Participate in pilot testing with peers and provide structured feedback.
- Organize peer feedback and compile summary reports for faculty use.
- Collaborate with faculty and fellow student assistants in project meetings.
- Student Assistants will perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
  • Special Qualification: Admission or registration as a CSU student.

Required Qualifications:

  • Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative.
  • Students must be enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate)
  • International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB. (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate)
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Payroll Requirement: Social Security Card

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, DALL·E, Claude, etc.).
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Workspace, and Canvas.
· Interest or coursework in marketing, business, or hospitality/ tourism/ entertainment/ sports.
· Currently enrolled CSUSB student in good academic standing.
· Ability to follow instructions, meet deadlines, and work independently.
· Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
· Interest in technology integration, AI applications, or instructional design.

Special Conditions: 

• Must have a driver’s license to use a state vehicle

Compensation and Benefits:

Student Employment Anticipated Hiring Range: $16.90 - $17.50 per hour.

The compensation offered will consider internal equity and experience among other factors.

Position Information:

Work status: Part-Time, Temporary, Seasonal

Academic year available hours: Monday through Friday (8:00 am – 5:00 pm).

Summer available hours: Monday through Thursday (7:00 am - 5:30 pm).
