About the role
Job Overview The Associate Technician will support the Trailer and Equipment Technician with assigned service requests for company trailers, delivery vehicles and warehouse equipment and perform small, independent jobs. Service requests include inspections, maintenance, installations, and uninstallations. A successful Associate Technician must be able to work effectively and efficiently throughout the day with oversight from the Trailer and Equipment Technician and Fleet and Asset Maintenance Manager. Responsibilities and Duties Inspections
- Assist with general inspections and cleaning of company assets, including warehouse equipment, delivery vehicles and trailers.
- Support inspections of equipment/vehicles to determine the root-cause problem using diagnostic knowledge and tools to determine necessary steps.
- Contributes to compliance of all equipment, vehicles, and trailers with local, state, and federal regulations and the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR).
- Communicate with management clearly on inspection findings and completed service requests.
- Support with preventative maintenance on warehouse equipment and delivery vehicles.
- Support with installs and uninstalls of Samsara forward cameras and vehicle gateways; install/uninstall plates as well.
- Assist with testing all equipment, vehicles, and trailers to ensure proper performance after maintenance and/or installation.
- Perform general maintenance and instillations for equipment and the facility.
- Maintain batteries in equipment through watering batteries on a regular schedule.
- Moving vehicles between warehouse locations for operational needs.
- Perform parts/hardware runs between locations.
- Ensure all tools and/or parts are organized and in good working condition.
- Support with snow removal at business facility.
- Conduct all work up to safety standards and regulations.
- Maintain an organized and timely approach to handling service requests.
- Snow plowing during Winter months.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Chauffer license required within 2 weeks of employment.
- Proven experience as an automotive mechanic or technician is preferred.
- Knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and repair techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
- Ability to lift and carry 75 lbs. individually and up to 100 lbs.. with other associates.
- Ability to use stairs and walk on paved and unpaved surfaces.
