OnsiteWe have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Product Engineer – Materials & Process to join our Product Engineering & Labs Team.
As a Principal Product Engineer – Materials & Process you will be the primary point of contact for all Process and Product Development for production program(s), and/ or developmental effort(s). In this role you will work together with process engineering, as well as all the various engineering disciplines to produce microelectronics used in cutting edge military and defense related hardware. Our product engineers are also often directly involved with customers and additional internal production teams to support assembly and integration issues. This position is truly an all-encompassing position where you can and will be asked to be involved from “cradle to grave” - working from conception to design and development to full rate production to sustainment, and in some cases program closeout, and/or design/development of the next generation solution. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with some of our senior technical experts and have potential opportunities to contribute on Raytheon patents, trade secrets, and innovations. This role will not only allow you to work side by side with some of our best and brightest, but also eventually the experience and exposure to pursue becoming one of our Engineering Technical Fellows yourself.
Key Responsibilities for the qualified candidate include:
Utilize established statistical process control techniques, experimental designs, material, and mechanical design analysis you will help to identify root cause and corrective action for systemic production and design issues, as well as implement process improvements in order to drive down cost and improve yields.
Responsible for assembly methods, material selection, and process development for current and next generation technologies, with a heavy emphasis on “hands-on”, material properties, and automated assembly.
Evaluate materials, equipment, and processes (including qualification, acceptance testing, and specification development); including interfacing with key internal and external suppliers to resolve technical issues.
Interface with all the various functions including Quality, Reliability, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Manufacturing, and Operations Engineering.
Flexibility to support on-call and on-site production (if needed). Eligible to receive OT for support beyond core hours.
Willingness to learn assembly processes and to develop a “hands-on” understanding of the equipment.

Security Clearance Requirement:
Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship required.
Requires advanced to expert knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
May have broad knowledge of project management. Requires substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or
systems in order to provide enhancements within job area. Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years
prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a
minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
