About this opportunity:
Reporting to the Operations Coordinator, the Lead Operator is accountable for providing the field operations team with daily direction in order to operate in a safe, efficient, and environmentally conscious manner. The Lead Operator will provide leadership in identifying and implementing ideas which will improve productivity, efficiency and safe operations. This position is a developmental position for individuals that exhibit leadership skills and supervisory potential. Individuals in this role should be willing to progress to the Operations Coordinator supervisory position.
This role is based in Rainbow Lake and is 14 days on 14 days off rotational role. The role requires the successful candidate to live in Rainbow Lake while on shift. Location premium may be provided.
What you’ll do:
Prioritize, delegate, and schedule Rainbow Lake/Bivouac projects.
Communicate to all departments in designated area and send a weekly report to Operations Coordinator and Senior Supervisor
Operations Coordinator coverage as required.
Attend operations leadership meetings.
Turnaround coverage and support
Coaching Lead and mentor for operating area
Complete Monthly assurance activities
Well reactivation
Who you are:
8+ years of relevant industry experience
3+ years conventional oil and gas field and facility operations experience
Strong coaching and mentoring skills required.
Strong decision making and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license (driver’s abstract is required)
Experience in high sour environments preferred.
Pumpjack experience preferred.
Refridge plant experience preferred.
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
High School diploma
As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.
For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate
