What will you do as a (Senior) Business Analyst?

As a (Senior) Business Analyst, you play a pivotal role in driving Vopak's strategic financial planning, capital allocation, performance analysis, and reporting. This role is essential in supporting executive decision-making, optimizing portfolio performance, and facilitating growth opportunities.

What do we expect from you as a (Senior) Business Analyst?

• Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

• 4+ years of relevant experience in financial planning & analysis, preferably in a global or multinational environment in a similar industry

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Advanced knowledge of financial modeling and reporting tools (Tagetik or similar).

• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.

• Oral and written proficiency in English.

• Familiarity with acquisition, divestment, and project finance principles.

• Ability to work independently and proactively.

• Passion for driving strategic initiatives and fostering a culture of excellence.

What does your day look like?

As (Senior) Business Analyst, you will be a part of the Business Analysis & Strategic Finance team of 4 colleagues. You ensure the optimization of internal (project) controls and analyses to complete projects within budget and planning. Your team supports the division by keeping the portfolio system up-to-date and acts as a gatekeeper for internal controls and procedures.

Your core responsibilities are:

• Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis:

• Develop and refine financial models, KPIs, and reporting tools to enhance decision-making and strategy execution.

• Critically review divisional budget and quarterly reports, offering insights and recommendations to the Executive Board.

• Prepare comprehensive quarterly updates (Explanatory Notes) for the Executive Board, analyzing market trends and Vopak's financial performance.

• Investment Evaluation & Optimization:

• Actively contribute to BUs and terminal investment plans (Acquisitions, Divestments, Greenfields, Expansions) ensuring adherence to best practices and efficient resource allocation.

• Conduct rigorous evaluations of investment proposals, providing well-reasoned advice to the Executive Board.

• Maintain accurate records of Plan Years and Project financial data in Tagetik.

• Deliver quarterly updates to the Executive Board on Vopak's financial outlook, project pipeline, and scenario-based headroom analysis.

• Performance Enhancement & Collaboration:

• Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at performance optimization (benchmarking, cost competitiveness).

• Foster strong relationships with global departments and provide tailored support to BUs as needed.
