Associate Director, P&W SBU, Functional and Frontline Employee Communications - Employee Engagement Team (M6)

The Associate Director, Employee Communications will be responsible for leading Pratt & Whitney Strategic Business Unit (SBU) and Frontline Employee Communications. This role will develop and implement internal communications strategies to inform and engage employees, connecting them to P&W’s mission and business priorities. The incumbent will align strategy and execution across all three SBUs including Military Engines, Commercial Engines and P&W Canada. This role will directly support Commercial Engines, developing, executing and measuring employee communications. In addition, this role will develop the communications strategy to engage P&W’s frontline employees.

The Associate Director requires a blend of leadership, strategic insight, operational excellence, tactical execution and the ability to influence at the highest levels of the organization. This position will be responsible for leading and developing a team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

A strategic mindset, excellent writing skills and strong executive presence are critical for this role to effectively engage with senior leaders and employees across Pratt & Whitney and RTX.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the development of the overarching Pratt & Whitney SBU and frontline employee communications strategy, working with the P&W employee communications team to align the strategy and execution across the three SBUs.
  • Directly lead the development and execution of the employee communications plan for Commercial Engines and the Single Aisle campaign.
  • In partnership with the Global Business Communications team, oversee the strategic development and execution of employee communications that advance P&W's business goals.
  • Work across the Employee Engagement and Channels & Content teams to optimize and streamline communications with frontline employees to help drive company success and advance the company’s organizational effectiveness.
  • Act as a trusted internal communications advisor to the Global Business Communications team and global site leaders, to advise on communication best practices, providing guidance on effective communication techniques and strategies.
  • Using an outcomes-based approach, track metrics and identify opportunities to continuously improve communications, in partnership with the Channels & Content team.
  • Ensure consistent message pull through of business priorities, aligned to goals in all communications, maintaining a high standard of quality and accuracy.
  • Engage with the Global Business Communications team to maintain a deep understanding of strategic priorities, business performance, and market dynamics, ensuring that communications are timely, relevant, and sensitive to external factors.
  • Drive continuous improvement by leveraging metrics, soliciting feedback, and applying advanced evaluation and analytics methodologies.
  • Remain at the forefront of engagement communication trends, bringing fresh, forward-thinking ideas to the Employee Engagement Team and Communications function.
  • Travel up to 25%, or as needed.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experience.
  • Experience in the development and execution of employee communication strategies with measurable outcomes that directly contribute to business goals.
  • Previous experience in executive and employee communications, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Operational skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively within the CORE operating system framework.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate complex ideas and concepts into clear, concise messaging.
  • Previous experience seeking continuous improvement through metrics, feedback collection and evaluation/analytics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Poppulo, and other communication tools.
