Skilled Assembler - 2nd Shift

Job Summary

The Skilled Assembler performs numerous functions associated with ethernet switch assembly, wiring and testing. This position is also responsible for the quality of their work, working effectively in a team environment, and unit testing and configuration.

Responsibilities

• Operates various hand tools and other equipment.
• Performs various hand assembly of Ethernet switches as required per production drawings.
• Performs multiple levels of electrical testing up to 240 Volts.
• Verifies that products pass testing and meet all quality standards.
• Performing repairs on an as need basis.
• Performs screening and separation of various parts.
• Performs various packaging per production drawing.
• Responsible for recording assembly time data and completion of all associated routing, quality inspections, and other related forms.
• Assists in other Production areas as needed.
• Increases productivity in all activities.
• Follows necessary PPE requirements, appropriate ISO specifications and company procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3 (+) years’ experience with hand assembly of small electronic parts, including conducting electrical testing.
• Understands basic electronics concepts and can follow process assembly documents.
• Ability to read and comprehend English written production documentation and drawings.
• Basic computer skills.
• Consistently demonstrate a positive attitude toward all aspects of work.

Essential Job Functions 

• Must be willing to be cross trained in several assembly functions to meet constantly changing production requirements.
• Assembly, testing functionality of product, software set up and configuration.
• Must be willing to work overtime periods including weekends to meet production demands.
• Must be willing to be moved into various work centers to meet production requirements or where skills best serve department and company goals.
• If required must pass an English literacy test or complete the necessary training and show improvement in English skills including, reading, writing, and comprehension within 180 days after accepting the position.
• Must pass an IPC 610
• Must be able to sit or stand for at least 4 hours.
• Must be able to maintain an organized workspace.
• Must be able to lift or move containers weighing up to a maximum of 50 pounds.
• Attendance in accordance with company policies.
• Able to use pallet jack.
• Able to push 4-wheeled cart with 100-pound loads.
