The Education Coach will support and advocate for high quality early childhood experiences within Mile High Early Learning centers and community partnerships throughout the Denver metro region. The Education Coach will support the growth and capacity development of teaching staff by providing coaching, training, and professional development to adult learners in the Mile High Early Learning community. The foundation of the Education Coach’s work will be based on MHEL’s vision, trauma-informed practices, responsive caregiving, and curricular approaches that align with the Head Start Early Learning Framework and the Colorado Early Learning & Development Guidelines.

Responsibilities of the Education Coach include:

  • Working with department directors to ensure quality standards are implemented for children in the classroom
  • Working with individual teachers to set achievable goals, based on multiple sources of data, within each coaching cycle that support development of best practices
  • Utilizing coaching protocols to structure and document work with each teacher, including the provision of regular feedback and differentiated coaching strategies
  • Facilitating professional development for early learning professionals and MHEL staff, as well as training/workshops for parents and community members
  • Participating in regular coaching meetings and professional learning opportunities for MHEL Coaches, fully engaging in ongoing professional learning
  • Supporting teachers in their work to provide a high quality early learning experience for each child and family
  • Engaging with stakeholders (teachers, program directors, families and community members) using a strengths-based, culturally competent lens
  • Support HS/EHS partner sites with coaching, curriculum implementation, professional development and education data collection as needed
  • Work in collaboration and across departments to ensure quality standards are implemented for children in the classroom.
  • Utilize MHEL’s curriculum structure & pedagogical approach to identify areas of focus for coaching, training, and professional development.
  • Provide coaching and support to community partner sites to ensure Head Start Performance Standards are embedded within MHEL-funded programs.
