Senior Director, Inpatient Services

The Senior Director, Inpatient Services collaborates on strategic planning, developing goals and objectives, and priority setting for nursing and patient care services. Shares in the accountability for developing and implementing programs for nursing, directed toward achievement of the mission, vision, values and goals, as well as ongoing Magnet designation. Assumes 24-hour accountability for the delivery of professional care and the allocation of resources for the assigned area of responsibility. Partners with multidisciplinary teams and is responsible for clinical outcomes, productivity/outcome measures, and adherence to nursing practice standards. The Senior Director, Inpatient Services will cultivate and sustain a culture that embraces and exemplifies nursing professional practice, the development of future nursing leaders and leadership excellence. Works in partnership with Senior Director, Hospital Operations and Senior Director, Patient Support Services to assure common goals, tactics required to achieve goals, and alignment across the Patient Care Services Division.

Accountable for the planning, development, provision and continuous improvement of all patient care services within Acute Care and Critical Care Units. Plan, implement and evaluate services to ensure sustained improvements in quality, cost, delivery, safety, engagement and family experience in assigned clinical sites. Collaborate and partner with MD leaders, service line leaders, site of care leaders, and the Senior Director, Hospital Operations and Senior Director of Patient Support Services to develop, implement and operationalize initiatives intended to achieve desired outcomes.

Responsible for the planning, implementing and regularly evaluating services that support operations 24x7, assuring that the services supports patients, families, and staff and meets the expected service and care outcomes. Is responsible for leadership to the inpatient delivery goals and outcomes.

  

Required Education and Experience
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Master's degree in Nursing; may be substituted with a Master’s in Business Administration, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field provided the candidate also possesses a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (Candidates currently enrolled in a Master’s program will be considered. Individual must complete program within three years in position and maintain solid performance. Minimum five (5) years of leadership experience in a health care setting.

Required Credentials
Current Washington State RN license. Must obtain national certification in a clinical specialty area or leadership within three years. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers. Current PEARS or PALS certification will be accepted in lieu of BLS. A copy of graduate degree in Nursing or transcripts indicating attainment of Master's degree in nursing is to be on record with Human Resources upon hire. If Master's degree is in Business Administration, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field, a copy of the degrees or transcripts indicating attainment of a Master's degree and Bachelor's in Nursing degree is to be on record with Human Resources upon hire. If Master's degree is in process, a copy of the Bachelor's degree in Nursing or transcripts indicating attainment of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and a notation of expected Master's completion date is to be on file with Human Resources upon hire.

Preferred
Clinical experience in a pediatric setting.

Compensation Range

$249,620.00 - $374,430.00 per year

Salary Information

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
