Teams at Wayflyer are truly cross-functional. Regardless of your role at Wayflyer, you'll work with a variety of different disciplines and teams from around the world on a multitude of challenging projects and game-changing products to revolutionise the eCommerce landscape.

What you’ll do

• You will be primarily responsible for regulatory risk for all of our existing and new products.

• You will be primarily responsible for managing and tracking changes in laws and impacts on our products as a result of such changes.

• You will assist with design and, where appropriate, launch of new products or geographies to assess regulatory risk and mitigate and manage that risk in a way appropriate to Wayflyer’s business. You will have an opportunity to work with our capital markets team to ensure capital can be secured for new products.

• You will be primarily responsible for obtaining, managing and maintaining regulatory authorisations and/or banking partnerships in the EU, US and Australia.

• You will manage external counsel in multiple jurisdictions (primarily US and Europe as well as other jurisdictions relevant to our business) on all of our regulatory matters as well as on other business critical matters to ensure timely and expert support.

• You will be responsible for advising the business about regulatory impacts of proposed changes in business strategy or operations.

• While not mandatory, for those with relevant experience, you will have the opportunity to work on other general matters as a deputy to our Chief Legal Officer and assist with a multiplicity of other non-regulatory, commercial matters including complex customer contracts, management responsibilities and enhancing legal operations within the legal team.

Knowledge, skills and experience

• You are a qualified lawyer

• You have 7+ years experience working as a lawyer either in practice or in-house, ideally within experience in debt finance or financial regulatory matters

• You have experience working with and advising C-level executives

• You are able to work collaboratively with counterpart lawyers to drive efficiencies in transaction processes

• You have a strong commercial acumen and can make risk based decisions

• You can work in unstructured environments where decisions are taken quickly and nimbly

• You have managed teams and have a good coaching capabilities

What is important to point out is that you can do most or all of the above mentioned and can point to your real experience doing it. You’ve probably done it at companies of different shapes, sizes and industries. Given what we do, experience in financial services, fintech and business-to-business organisations is particularly interesting to us.
